A palette of muted grays and earthy browns gives this Air Force 1 Shadow a subtle style, while layered effects give it added dynamism. The outsole unit transitions from Summit White through the outsole ring structures to a tan color around the edges, then back to Summit White on the midsole. The lateral heel is highlighted by a piece of Summit White rubber with extensive stitching connecting it to the midsole and upper. The Air text is also embossed in light brown, matching the slightly smaller set of the midsole underneath.

The upper is even more layered: Panels alternate between Summit White, the slightly gray off-white shade of Pure Platinum, and the even darker Wolf Grey. The latter shade appears on the secondary forefoot mudguard, visible beneath another white around the edge of the toe box and most prominently on the midfoot. The eyestay has also been divided into two layers: one in Summit White that obscures most of the sesame-colored one underneath. In the lower part two series of AF1 writings appear, the first imprinted in the eyelet itself and the second engraved in the metal closure of the lace above it. Behind, the tongue is made of a wide mesh that gives a knitted feel. Two patches adorn the top, one with cream branding on a Wolf Gray background, the other with white text on Sesame.

Two of the three swooshes decorating the sidewalls of the shoe are also Sesame, as is the main heel tab, which features white Nike text stitched inside. A second heel tab is visible behind it, but only along the gray top edge. The third swoosh, located below the Sesame one on the lateral side, is printed on the midfoot and rear panel. The latter are made of different materials, the first in linen-like fabric and the second in premium leather. The linen fabric continues under the back overlay to reappear around the collar, before also appearing in the toe area. In place of perforations, this segment features a series of small bumps in place of the normal vent holes. This material gives the design a softer, cozier feel, while extra comfort is added inside in the form of plush padding in a light shade of cream. The white sockliner provides underfoot support and two sets of Nike Air branding are mirrored across the surface. One is in Wolf Grey, the other in Sesame, but both are printed in a substance that appears to shimmer in the light, completing the design with a pop of shimmer.
